Whilst you are here on holiday there is plenty to see and do. There are many historical sites here and Los Millares is the largest and most important copper aged settlement. The caves of Sorbas are quite unique and there are 3 levels of caving walking to enjoy. The historic palace castle of the Alcazaba de Almeria is a definate to visit, free to EU citizens. The castle of Los Velez in the north of the province in Velez Blanco is alos worth a visit. There are numerous galleries and musems across Almeria with a permanat gallery in the Castle of Cuevas del Almanzora. The solar platfrom just outside Tabernas is an intersting place to visit. Many of the inhabitants of Almeria once lived in caves which you can see evidence of all over the province. The Aquarium in Roquetas de Mar is an interesting place to spend a few hours.

Alcazaba

High on a ridge lying parallel to the coast stands the Alcazaba, looking out towards the sea. Its 1430 metres of fortified walls enclose an area of 4 hectares (about 18 acres).
