Los Millares, considered the most important European archaeological site of the Copper Age, is located in the municipality of Sante Fe de Mondújar, some 17 kilometers from Almeria, on a spur shaped plateau between the Andarax River and the Rambla de Huechar. It consists of a settlement of circular houses fortified with a wall and next to it, a cemetery with over 80 megalithic tombs. The inhabitants of Los Millares were primarily farmers but they have also learnt metal work. The site is considered highly important to understand the transition from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age.
Visits: Wednesday to Sunday 10.00-14.00 hours
