Fried squid served with alioli. This is a very popular dish all over Spain. The trick to get that crisp golden finish is to use the slightly courser flour “harina de trigo”. Fried squid rings can be served as a tapa or main course. Making a very tasty snack is simple just follow our instructions below.

Ingredients:

300g squid rings cleaned
Salt and black pepper
Plain flour (Harina de trigo)
250g mayonnaise
3 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon hot smoked paprika
Lemon
Olive oil to fry.

Preparation:

Put some flour and salt & pepper into a bowl and dip your squid ring in the seasoned flour ensuring a good even coverage. Shake off excess flour and leave on a plate.
Heat your olive oil in a frying pan approximately 1 cm deep until it smokes. Add your squid rings for approximately 5 minutes or golden brown. Once cooked drain off the excess oil and leave on some kitchen roll.
Crush your garlic and mix with the mayonnaise and paprika. Now serve with lemon wedges. A very tasty dish indeed.
