The quiet, pretty village of Canjáyar lies in the Andarax valley at the
foot of the Sierra Nevada and facing the Sierra de Gador, in the Sierra
Nevada Natural Park. It is surrounded by fields, vineyards and
olive groves. Its narrow streets and terraces of whitewashed
houses are reminders of its Moorish past. The parish church is a
focal point. It comes to life in the autumn and is the scene of
great activity during the grape harvest.
