Here in Almeria, Spain we have some of the best cleanest beaches in Spain. From the sheltered bay of Cala Cerrada near Sna Juan de los Terreros to the long sandy open beach of Vera Playa. Mojacar has several kilometres of clean sandy beaches. Playa de los Muertos just outside Carboneras is quite spectacular and has been used in the film Treasure Island. The natural park of the Cabo de Gata has some fantastic remote beaches very well worth the walk to get to some of these. Roquetas de Mar Aguadulce also have well maintained beaches which are blue flag accredited with active life saver guards and red cross facilities.

Playa El Algarrobico is just outside Carboneras.It has clean shallow calm waters. There are no facilities here and you should take some supplies. Beautiful area being spoilt by the development of a hotel, but still worth a visit.Esta playa virgen está antes de llegar a la población de Carboneras. Es de arena y grava y sus aguas son tranquilas. No es muy concurrida y cuenta con servicios básicos...

Playa de los Muertos (beach of the dead) is a fine sandy beach with moderately calm water just outside Carboneras. It is a 10 minute walk from the carpark to the beach. There are no facilities so take supplies. Was once usedas a location in the film Treasure Island.
