The small inland town of Almanzora lies amongst olive groves, in the
valley of the river of the same name, between Cantoria and Arboleas, a
short distance south of Albox. The surrounding quiet countryside
is a good area for rural tourism.
In the main square you will find the 19th century Palace of Marqués de
Almanzora, a neo-classical building designated an Artistic-Historical
Monument in 1982.
The town has the benefit of a medical centre, chemist and junior
school, as well as a Friday market. There are buses to Huércal
Overa and Albox. A fiesta is held on 5th August.
