The small fishing and tourist village of Agua Amarga lies on the
eastern side of Cabo de Gata Natural Park, in a sheltered bay hidden
between cliffs. The resort, popular with the Spanish, ha a good
sandy 800m beach  there are other excellent beaches nearby- and offers
a good choice of water sports: water skiing, jet skiing, yachting,
fishing and diving. The village is also a centre from which to
explore the Natural Park. There are magnificent views from the
cliff top lighthouse, Faro de la Mesa de Roldán, 3 km up the Carboneras
road. Agua Amarga has bars, restaurants and supermarkets.
